Tarot Divination

The Tarot cards tell a story of a spiritual journey. Which cards are chosen during a Tarot reading, where they fall in a Tarot card layout, the relationship of one card to another, and all the chosen cards taken as a whole, can tell your unique story or answer your questions for that particular moment in time. The Tarot gives you guidance to understand and clarify your personal direction in life – whatever it is that you need to know at that moment in the Now.

No one knows when the Tarot was first used for divination. Some people say they were used in ancient times in Egypt or India. Others believe that the first cards were hand-painted and used as playing cards in Italy in the early 1400s. The Tarot deck consists of 22 major Arcana cards without suits and 56 minor Arcana cards, divided among four suits of wands or rods, cups, swords and coins – also known as pentacles or disks.

Tarot decks are designed with many different looks. Most people are familiar with the Rider-Waite deck created by Pamela Colman-Smith and Arthur Edward Waite, who were both members of The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Another popular deck is Aleister Crowley's Thoth deck.

Some readers relate the Tarot to the Tree of Life, astrology, seasons, elements, directions, ancient mysteries, magick, or whatever else the cards and their intuition shows them. However you approach the Tarot, the deck of 78 cards is amazingly insightful.
